This is a "tree free" environmentally friendly and sustainable product.

The elephant dung is collected, sun dried and boiled, to kill the bacteria, it is then blended and placed in mould, pressed and again sun dried. No chlorines or acids, only salt dyes are used for colouring. The paper has a soft vellum like feel and is ideal for writing on.

This process employs over 100 local villagers giving them a regular income plus the profits from the sale of the paper products are used to improve the life of the Sri Lankan elephants.
